Lahore One Restaurant

I have been to Lahore One Restaurant many times when I lived in London and whenever I visited London. Lahore One serves the best Pindi Chloe Channa and Methi Chicken in town without a shadow of a doubt. The dishes prepared by them have been unchanged ever since they started operating in London 37 years ago.

Lahore One is always the place I would surely go for lunch at least once when I am in London. The restaurant itself is not very big and not very fancy. All it offers is genuine good food. Not all dishes served are groundbreaking either. Sometimes the service may also be average. But all you have to consider is that the food made and served here is made with love and some dishes are really worth more than what they ask for. Pindi Chole channa can really give Michelin-star Indian hotels there a run for their money. The best part is that the food prepared in Lahore One is not made with tonnes of spices it’s generous and made with a delicate combination of selected rich herbs and spices.

Lahore One Restaurant Menu

The menu of Lahore One restaurant is pretty generous and focuses on Charcoal Tandoor dishes. They have various other good dishes as well like seek kebabs, lamb tikka, karahi chicken, karahi gosht to name some of the mouth-watering dishes they make. They have delicious Indian kheer as well which is made of rice and milk.

To check the detailed Lahore One restaurant menu you check it here.

What makes Pindi Chole Channa so tasty?

The pindi Chole or Channa are made every day at Lahore one restaurant. Pindi Chole or Channa are made of Chickpeas cooked with Indian herbs and spices. And garnished with fresh ginger and coriander leaves. The Channa is cooked so well that when you bite on them they simply melt in your mouth. You must try them with Roti (Indian bread) or with Garlic Naan.

You can also have the pindi chole channa with chicken tikka or lamb tikka roll. Simply add delicious flavour to the rolls. Wanted to highlight that Pindi Chole channa is not for people who are cautious about ghee and butter. Because the Pindi Chole channa are almost fried in desi ghee butter to give that intense delicious flavour.

I would suggest you order Pindi Chole Channa with Roti/Garlic Naan and Methi Chicken Karahai. For starters, you can have lip-smacking lamb kebabs too. The combination of Pindi chole channa with mint raitha they serve with onion and lettuce salad is heavenly.

Birthday Celebration Dinner Cruise on the Thames River

/////

We all gathered in London to celebrate my dad’s birthday celebration dinner cruise on the Thames River this July 2022. We heard a lot about it and wanted to celebrate this occasion on the Thames River cruise. It is a fantastic place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries etc. I booked the tickets for 6 of us from Viator which was the London Dinner cruise on the Thames River. My wife and I travelled from Tallinn, Estonia and my mom, brother and his wife travelled from New Delhi, India.

It was a special occasion, as it is very rare that we are able to gather all in London after so long. Especially due to Covid restrictions lasting 2 years. It has been a rough time for friends and family to gather. So here we are at the Westminster Pier sharp by 6.30 pm. Even though our cruise will start by 7 pm. We wanted to make sure that we reach in time and in case of any issues with finding the cruise we have ample time to go to the right place.

Dinner Cruise Starting Point

We had to reach the departure point which was: Westminster Pier, Victoria Embankment, London SW1A 2JH, UK. See the map below.

At the entry which was the boarding point gate, we walked along and were greeted by the ticket checker. we had our London Dinner cruise on the Thames River in hand. Also, Viator sent us a mail where we can add the ticket to the Apple wallet as well.

Dinner cruise starting point
Dinner Cruise Starting Point

We waited in the waiting area to post our ticket check. And we were called to get inside the cruise in like another 10 minutes or so. I was super excited to see the Thames River, Lastminute.com London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey. We were asked to queue and we entered the cruise and were given a table for six next to the window. The fantastic view around, while the cruise was a little wobbly.

4 Course Meal Experience at Dinner Cruise

We sat for a while and the background music started playing. The cruise was moving along and we crossed London Eye, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, Tower Bridge, and Canary Wark. While enjoying the London city views. The Food service started and we were first served some drinks. We had the option of having alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. By default, they were serving Sparkling wine.

Bread, butter and Salad for Starters

we were served Bread, butter, and Salad, as we opted for the vegetarian option when we were booking for the cruise. Just want to highlight that please do make sure that when you are doing your booking, please share your food choice i.e. vegetarian, non-vegetarian and any allergies in advance. When you are placing your booking you will be asked about your food preferences.

Vegetarian Artichokes Lasagne for the main course

had Lasagne Of Artichokes, Spinach And Sauté Of Mixed Mushrooms, and Goats Cheese (V), Served With Seasonal Vegetables. The meal was delicious and was enough for one person. We ordered some wine. It was overall a good combination of food and drink.

Chocolate Truffle cake for Dessert

Finally, we reached the dessert and we got white, Dark And Milk Chocolate Truffle Cake (V) Served With A Raspberry Coulis. The dessert was too big for my wife, so we said we want only one. And my mother knowing diabetic, asked for tea for her instead.

After dessert, we all had the option of coffee, or tea as a palate cleanser.

I wished we had a cake as well, would have been awesome to cut it on the cruise, but we completely forgot about it. Anyways, overall the meal was delicious and all six of us enjoyed it.

Live performance at the Cruise

There was nice celebration-related music all the time in the background. After our meals, there was a live performance and the anchor was asking everyone to share the reason for their visit to come to the dinner cruise today. The majority of the people were celebrating their birthdays or anniversaries. The anchor came to us and asked us as well, we shared it was our dad’s birthday. So everyone gave a round of applause and wished him a happy birthday.

The whole cruise was full of positive vibes and everyone enjoyed it. We all started dancing later and took loads of pictures of all of London’s iconic buildings. As the festive time of the year is approaching you can also book the Christmas Dinner Party Cruise to have fantastic Christmas celebrations with your friends, office colleagues and family.

14 Hills London, Fenchurch St

Dining at altitude is nothing new in the City of London, nor are restaurants aiming to appeal to a changing audience of diners and drinkers, better to appeal to a transient crowd of locals in search of kinship and tourists on the lookout for a new eyrie from which to enjoy the capital. That said, 14 Hills stands out. Here’s why: it sits directly below the new public garden atop 120 Fenchurch Street, a destination in its own right for which 14 Hills serves as the perfect accompaniment. Comprising a deli, bar and dining room, it offers food-to-go between 9-5 weekdays, lunch and dinner until 10.30 pm Monday to Saturday, with a bar that quietly rocks until the early hours. A spectacular spot for all those looking to celebrate in style, or simply gawp at London’s ever-changing skyline. Bill Prince 120 Fenchurch St, London EC3M 5BA. 14hills.co.uk

London Tourists Attractions and Restaurants are Opening – COVID-19

///

From 4th July London is opening its doors to tourists. Many see the move as caution. Many still think it’s the right move. We all need to make sure that we take all the right precautions while moving around within London or coming to London for holidays, tourism, and family meetings after more than 3 months of COVID-19 lockdown. London will never be the same, as some say. But we need to support our businesses and kick-start the tourism economy with caution.

London tourist Attractions Opened and opening up – 10th July 2020

London’s top attractions are allowed to open their gates to tourists from around the world and within the UK. Despite the new ruling, some of the attractions are still closed namely The British Museum, National History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum and Science Museum.

The National Gallery opened on the 8th of July, the Tower of London on the 10th of July, and Tate Britain and Modern will open on the 27th of July. Each one of London’s attractions has to follow strict pandemic rules and make sure all the places are sanitised and every public entrant needs to be thermally tested before entering the premises.

Londoners are urged to become Tourists – Sadiq Khan

Londoners are urged by the government (Sadiq Khan) to become tourists in their own city to support COVID-19 recovery. The city has been massively hit by the pandemic. And everyone dreads a long painful recovery for local businesses. Experts are contemplating a slow tourism recovery, as many nations are still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. European countries have somewhat recovered from the pandemic, but we all need to be cautious and start travelling responsibly. London locals are allowed to move around the city without any restrictions and are asked by the government to visit London’s beautiful sites.

People of different cultures and origins across the entire world have settled in London for ages. The number of non-British people residing in London is comparatively increasing every year. Experts believe that by 2030 the number of foreign-born people living in London will outnumber the native Britons- based on the 2011 Census. Out of the 3 million non-British residents, 40% are from Europe, 30% from the Middle East and Asia, 20% from Africa, and the rest 10% from America and the Caribbean. The Immigrant population is expected to increase to 5 Million by 2030.

Immigrating and settling in London has been going on since the 17th century. Since then, the tide of migration has never stopped. London was always a city of foreigners. However, the elderly population of traditional Londoners are not very accepting of this mosaic of races, colours, languages and people. But this massive migration has given rise to new lifestyles, food, art and music. There are many reasons for London being the best Cosmopolitan city today Education, Infrastructure, Culture, Job opportunities, Growth and health. It’s a Dynamic city and is also voted as the best and greatest city in the world to live in, beating the likes of New York, Paris and Berlin.

Once you land in London stay there for a few days and travel in and around the city, you shall notice people from different cultures, communities and races. These communities are concentrated in particular areas, suburbs or even boroughs of London. There are Indians, Turks, Ghanaians, Koreans, Arabs, Pakistanis, Jamaicans and Africans all over London. So here, we give you a round-up of the nationalities /communities and cultures that you’ll easily come across in London.

Jews

The earliest Jewish settlement in London was recorded in 1070. Under Cromwell Oliver Cromwell Judaism was brought back to England in 1656. Jews are one of the oldest minority groups in the Country. It’s a known fact that the Jews were always subjected to discrimination and anti-Semitic attacks over the centuries. Despite that, they have made a significant contribution in the form of commerce and philanthropy to the country. The Jewish people are settled in Greater London, parts of South Hertfordshire, south-west Essex, Glasgow and Liverpool. There is a large concentration of Hasidic Jews in Stamford Hill district in North London. Due to their high fertility rate, the Hasidic community increases by 5% each year. They are the orthodox Jewish community.

The Jews could be easily spotted wearing kippot/kippah on their heads, some with black hats and some prefer wearing black suits. A Rabbi (Jewish religious leader/Scholar) will be seen wearing a kippah, a tallit and a prayer shawl. Women will mostly be seen wearing modest attires with some covering their heads with a scarf (tichel). The British-Jewish culture is quite strong in London with more than 400 Synagogues (in the country), Jewish Museums, and Kosher/Jewish Restaurants in the city. Try their famous Bagels (a bread product)when around in Jewish restaurants.
